Wow. Probably one of the best looking full sized lux sedans on the market right now. Super understated and classy yet elegant.

I wish they could make wheels that don’t look like inexpensive knockoffs of other nicer wheels. Seriously, its the only thing holding back the look.

It looks good in the same way the 1996 LS400 looks good. Classy, but really damn boring.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with boring. I mean, how would you make it less boring without it becoming a Lexus?

It’s so... boy racer. That doesn’t look like luxury, it looks like a sports car.

How is that less boring? The proportions make it look significantly less upper-class.

It’s significantly more boring. It looks more boring, while having a FWD based 4-cylinder. I will never understand the circle jerk around Volvo on here. The driving dynamics of a Camry, the looks of a normal car, and the reliability of a modded Mk.IV Golf.

Handsome, but still no less boring than the Genesis.

Oh, I understand how all the journalists are skewed against you too. C&D, Motor Trend, Jalopnik, everyone who has experience and a reputed opinion, they’re all wrong because of your simple minded stereotypes. My grandparents used to have a Dodge Shadow. The thing was a piece of shit, but you don’t see me saying the Charger must be awful because it’s auto only and has a minivan engine. Yes we accept free opinions here, but they should be founded in reason.

Founded in reason? The reliability score is a fucking reason. The customer satisfaction rating is 1.7 out of 5. So shut the fuck up about “simple minded reasoning”, there is plenty of sound reason to not like a company that makes duller than the competition cars, that don’t last.

Oh right, I forgot that reliability surveys are exactly what makes a great car. Whelp, time go home everyone, the Toyota Camry is officially a better car than everything else, not sure why we even bother with comparison tests anymore. Objectively speaking, many experts and well known authorities have labeled the XC90 in particular one of the best SUVs on sale today, winning tens of awards internationally so I’d say it’s definitely worse than the competition.
Anyways, this is now Trump’s America so I guess prejudice and discrimination are fair game now. It’s fine to say a car is not for me. But to write it off as horrible and terrible and not something anyone should buy is a statement which I would not bequeath even on the Ssanygyong Rodius. Is it too much to demand respect? Oppositelock is a place where we come to celebrate our differences, not disparage them. All cars are meant to be welcome here, from the most opulent Duesenberg to yes, even the shittiest Volvo, but if you continue to deride people for liking what they like then I’m sad to say you have no place here.

There is nothing, besides maybe seats, that Volvo does better than anyone else. That’s why reliability matters. They aren’t faster. They aren’t nimbler. They aren’t better looking. They aren’t better built. They aren’t even safer anymore. People rave about the cars on this site because it’s the underdog, and fine, root for the underdog, but don’t praise it like it’s not the underdog for a reason.
